Chester Chick Pattern

I showed you a sneaky peak of Chester in last weeks post but now I am sharing the full pattern so you can all make your very own Chester’s just in time for Easter.

chick1

He is super quick and easy to make, whipping up in a day.

You’ll find the pattern below but there is also a PDF version over on my Etsy page should you want a simpler printable copy πŸ™‚

MATERIALS:
3.5mm hook
Any DK yarn (I used 1ball of Stylecraft Special DK in Saffron plus a little scrap of Spice for the beak)
9mm safety eyes
Soft toy stuffing
Tapestry needle
Scissors

ABBREVIATIONS:
Ss – slip stitch
Ch- chain
Sc – single crochet
Dec – decrease

NOTES:
I use the invisible decrease method when decreasing. This involves inserting your hook in the front loop only of the first stitch, then insert your hook in the front loop only of the second stitch (so you have both front loops on your hook only) yarn over and pull through both loops then continue stitch as normal.
I am using US Terms throughout so a single crochet is a double for all you UK-ers following along.
You will find your stitch count at the end of each row in brackets.
Your starting chain one on each row does NOT count as your first sc.
We are working in joined rounds so please slip stitch to the first stitch of that round to join before you ch1 and start the next row.
